Thanks for looking guys. Yep, it's from Aeroplane Heaven - you just have to become a member (it's free) to get access to the free download area. Like all Bazza's stuff, it's a very nice model. Lovely cockpit and a very adequate VC which I guess isn't up to what AH are doing now but OK even so.
Brilliant shots! The lighting on the wings in the last shot is extremely nice! Great work Roller! Do you have the MK1A?
Thanks Soui - do you mean the AH payware Mk1A? I guess so. Unfortunately I've had to promise Mrs Rollerball not to buy any payware until she gets the new kitchen she's had her eye on - so it'll be a while yet ;)
But courtesy of M. Rebuffat I've got all the Spits I need really. Been a while since I've seen anyone post shots of his stuff so maybe if noone else does I'll do a few. Amongst others, been flying his Mk XVI lately - ugly with the chopped wings I think but you can't help but love it for all that

All the pics were done in Golden Wings. I like to fly all these older planes in that now because the colouring just looks better I think. Also I don't like bumping into modern AI when I'm flying them

Yeah landing is a bit .... challenging. I think it's mainly because the FDE wasn't done for FS9 (it's a CFS2 plane). You've got to really get on the trim to make sure it's set properly all the way down. But it's definitely not quite right. I find that even with just one notch of flap you're coming in with full throttle to keep an acceptable pitch angle otherwise you can lose it. Trouble then though is that you can't get enough speed off which means you can end up bouncing a lot on touchdown - and even run off the end of quite long runways.
I doubt the real aircraft was like that. Might take a look at it when I get a moment and try to make it a bit more compatible with FS9 without losing all of the challenge.
But hey, if you still haven't got this one it's a must-have I reckon.
