Back in time at Perth.

Having spent some time in Perth I decided to take a little flight in an old Qantas 747-200.

Coming in for a low pass over the runway.  Pretty strong crosswinds are going to make for a tricky landing.

Great view as we decend.

Nearly pulling a Kai Tak due to heavy wind gusts.

So much for making this landing...Pulling a go around from hell.

Eventualy on the 3rd attempt I made it down safetly.  Wasnt exactly picture perfect though :P

Lovely plane, a 'proper' one too.  ;D
Livery brings back the 'retro' times, do you think?
Anyway, those landings.... Kai Tak sure has come to Perth :)

Cheers ;)

Did you have to go-around 3 times with a strong crosswind thinking you were at Kai Tak, not Australia?  ;D ;D
I've always wanted to fly on a 742, is it much different to a 744 Ozzy?
Cheers ;)
