Today I was pratting round in a DC-3 Dakota (I've taken a new liking to it for some reason) and figured out a quick way to stop when landing:


On an incredibly steep final. Real fast here; and a little runway. I wasn't going to make it.......or was I?




Still too quick.....she didn't want to land, but that isn't about to stop me.......


125 KIAS....touchdown, most of the runway used. The daunting prospect of hitting a tree or hitting the sea seemed much more real.....


Remembering my old takeoff tactic, I decided to manipulate it into a landing. 97 KIAS...here goes nothing....


Aha! The engines had been abruptly stopped by hitting the ground. Now it was a matter of time...


At last, she grinded to a halt. And now, at least I had stopped, but how am I going to get the aft of the aircraft down so we can all get out??

So THAT's why I keep on getting letters from my insurance company!!  ;D

Just a suggestion. Throw a peanut to the tail end of the aircraft to get the ELEPHANT weighing you down to go after it! That should help shift the balance!

Of course, I forgot about 'Stampy'. It must be real cramped for him in the forward baggage section!  ;D

Have you tried giving Stampy slim-fast? Before you know it he'll be sitting comfortably in economy class!!!!       (it'll save you up in fuel costs too... imagine the possibilities!!)

I think you've done something more remarkable than Omag in these two posts ........ you have managed to prove that, not only can you not land ......... but you can't  take off either.
