Irfanview quirk?

Postby gryshnak » Mon Nov 14, 2005 12:50 pm

Has anyone else had this happen?

I was flying a 747 over Interlaken last night, playing around with a low sun and grabbing a few screenshots.

And this one, you can see the sort of image I was trying to get

But when I viewed this one later, the plane was missing!

It happened on a couple of other screenshots too, with different planes.  Irfanview made the appropriate bleep but the plane in the middle of the shot simply wasn't there.  Still a nice view, sure, but I hope it doesn't happen when I'm setting up a military transport shot for the November contest!

Very nice shots.. and no I too use Irfanview and nothing has happened like this before!!!  ???  sorry no help from me...

BUT, one question... do you pause when you take the picture?  Because if not that could maybe result to the problem since everything is still moving etc... and then sometimes ure comp can miss certain things!  ::)

I could be wrong but just an  idea...  :P

Yes, i did have that happen.
You have to turn anti-aliasing on.
Settings, hardware and then anti-aliasing.
I'm pretty sure. Anyone feel free to correct me, i'm not 100%.

I get that problem a lot when I pause the sim to take a picture (so just in case I usually snap 4 or 5 of the same shot) - but unpaused shots seem to work out ok.

Nice try...

But next time, remember to not change the scenery... ;)

Actually I didn't pause to take these, that was the whole point of using Irfanview - previously I would use Alt-PrintScreen, then pause and save the image to a graphics package.  Very slow and time consuming!  With Irfanview I can at least take more than one screenshot at a time.  And I've already got AA turned on.

I wasn't even using a downloaded aircraft for this one (but I was for the other two that went missing), it was the stock 747 with the stock scenery.

Actually I'd just installed dwndsk04.zip, but I can't see that having much of an impact on anything.

;D
Never had it happen and I never pause for screenshots.  Take em on the fly or replay for landings
