Tonight I created history!  Well, sort of.  I flew across the English Channel from Calais to Dover.

In 1909 Hubert Latham tried to cross the 18 miles of water in one of the most attractive planes ever built, the Antoinette monoplane.

Unfortunately he suffered engine failure, and had to ditch halfway across.

He was rescued and the Antoinette was recovered, but 3 days later Bleriot made a successful crossing in a design that could only be described as ugly.

I used Joe Binka's freeware design, the VC is basic (the only instruments are a compass and an altimeter) but that should be all you need - Latham won a prize the following month for reaching a height of 509' so try to complete the crossing while staying lower than that.
