Projet Tupolev is not only Tupolev...

Exterior
Image
Only reversers on the outboard engines.

Image
Nice front view

Image
Yes, the tailwheel can be moved up and down

Image
Even more navigation stuff than the Tu-154 ever had

Image
Main panel

Status:
  • Exterior looks finished, but no nightmaps yet
  • Panels are missing some detailed bitmaps (like the fuel panel)
  • No VC planned, as there are far too much gauges to give a decent framerate
  • Needs better manual (but you can fly it with the one that comes with the beta)

@Omag: that's only HALF of the navigator panel (hidden stuff: ADI, INS, ADF power stuff). And there is more on the main one too: fuel levels, copilot, fuel pumps, flight engineer, usual russian yoystick stuff, autopilot with main and backup channels and a KLN-90 GPS where you need the official Bendix manual to operate it

@The_Joker_Flyer: It's still in beta state
You can get it at

Not on the english pages yet but there is a short english manual

Damned !!  >:(
Another plane I won't be able to fly with :(
Too bad, it seems they have made such a fantastic job with the 2D panel and the exterior model  8)

My word...!
...that's what I call a work of art... :o... ;D...!
That takes a lot of time and effort to produce such a complex model... 8)...!
Love the panel, (I prefer 2D panels anyway)... ;)...!

Well done to the design crew...!

Paul..(.in his Piper Cub).... 8)...!

Probably the only plane that people need to work at to fly. I'm gonna have to buy a russian-english dictionary to figure out what all the gauges mean so I dont mistake airspeed for vs or something stupid like that.

I swear, every russian aircraft available for FS is either downright lame or extremely "realistic" and detailed, right down to the unreadable-to-most-simmers cyrillic writing.  Take the Yak-18 for instance, it's hard to even get the thing running!

Anyone here good at translating Russian to English? ;D

New tricks on this one (apart from an improved joystick handler)

  • Tailwheel
  • Fuel-and-balance screen (which in the final version will show the fuel tank indicators that are on the outside)
  • full range manual flap control (you'll lose f5-f8 stuff but in return you get full manual control over the whole 0-30 degree range
  • Split between electric (tail angle) and mechanical trim (trim tabs) as the Il-62 is the only large airliner with direct linked controls.
