Blast you Rollerball, I've only just got to San Francisco on my jaunt to Hawaii & already your pics of Alaska are making me want to turn back ;D

Great shots by the way!!

(On the plus side, if I do go back to Alaska then at least I can stop using my 'Virtual Reality Climate' - that means I can take off my jumper(s) & switch this blasted central heating off!!)

Cheers,

TSC.

Superb crisp shots of one of the best places to fly, love the water too... nice handy little plane - if you run out of food deep in the Alaskan wilderness you can always eat it.

Nice shots :) What cloud and water textures do you use?

Thanks guys. Another great little plane I DLd ages ago and never got around to installing. The reason was because I lost my system for weeks when I had a series of faulty graphics cards (no - don't ask, it's too painful to even think about... ??? ). Now I'm having a ball trying out all the stuff that's been sitting in my DL folder - just waiting to be flown.

Tweek, to be honest I've tried so many different water texs that I've forgotten which I've got in now. I think it's more or less water zone. The clouds - believe it or not - are default.

Now the best bit. The quality really is down to my current graphics card which is only a Gainward 6800LE which I got after doing a bit of research on the Net. It's not an expensive card at all - in fact it's a cut down 6800GT. What they do is mask half the pixel pipelines and shaders and use slightly slower memory. So what you do is use Rivatuner to unmask the pipelines and shaders - or at least as many as you can as often they use chips for these cards which have some damaged ones. If you're really lucky you can unmask em all and then you get the equivalent of a 6800GT but with the slower memory ie still a pretty hot card for not much money.

In my case I got all the shaders unmasked and all but 1 set of pipelines.

Result is that I get good performance and good quality - but - and you've gotta believe this - it's totally unaffected by cloud. FR does not fall AT ALL when flying in, around or through cloud. I'm amazed, it's the first time I've ever seen this and I love it because those are the conditions I really prefer as you can see from almost all my screenies.

Oh and the other thing is I use Photoshop to crop and resize my screenies. Great software and if you put a little sharpening on before you save to compensate for the compression, your shots stay really pristine. Kicks the backside of any other graphics software for this job I think.

Now I'm giving away all my secrets... ;)

Yeah it is. Nice one isn't it. Don't mind the red but I like the blue livery the best I think. Handles well - what more could you ask. He did a nice job.

Better not try landing that in a lake in Alaska then... ;)
