Hi

New here, just got MS2004 (and a graphics card, and a joystick), now I'm learning to fly this thing.

You don't beat around the bush, do you?! LOL
Just bought FS9 and a new card and already downloading planes and signing up to simviation.
I hope you didn't live a life of any significance, because you just lost it!  ;D
WELCOME

Hey welcome to Simv!

now-defunct GMAX

Sorry, however you're wrong on that one. GMAX is the aircraft designing program of the moment, companies like PMDG take pride in designing FS aircraft with it. On my CD-edition PMDG 737-600/700NG it says "Beautiful and realistic GMAX 737-600 & 700 exterior models".

Maybe you meant "the now-defunct  FS design studio"  ;)

Hi Gryshnak and welcome to the madhouse. The Lightning is a good choice for your first snap ;)

Hello there, Gryshnak, welcome! Cool shot... great looking paint on that Lightning! Here's a link to a Gotha G.IV, though I'm not sure if it's any good. It for FS2002 and not all bits on it might work in FS9. Still, it might do you for the time being :)

Here's a link to a Gotha G.IV

Thanks!  That's good enough for what I need  ;D

It does work in FS2004, but it barely gets off the ground and you need to keep the stick 75% back for the whole flight (it doesn't have elevator trim).  I might play around with the flight parameters, or substitute the files from another biplane of similar size.

But it sounds great!

Welcome Gryshnak!
It's nice to see a new face. Enjoy your time here at 'the V!'
Anyway, cool shot, it would be good if you uploaded some pictures of your paintings.
About the whole GMAX/Gotha G. IV thing, sorry, but I can't help you there.
Cheers  ;)
