1 out of every 3 miles in a highway system were to be straight according to dwight D. Eisenhower in order to have emergency airstrips in case of wartime emergencies..

First of all, according to the legend, I believe it's one out of every 5 miles
Second, I've heard this is not true

O.K. wise guys...for your information this is an actual place in FS9 called the ---------highway strip...and it's
not in Canada.......do you see any moose or beer in the picture? So despite your territorial razzing, here's a hint

Im gonna say Finland, I took off from a highway strip somewhere in Finland on my last fighter patrol on the Soviet border.
