Modern version of the Focke Wulf Ta283 designed by German engineers at the end of the war. Originally powered by two ram-jets it achieved takeoff  through a rocket motor housed in the rear of the fuselage, once airborne the ram-jets would take over. The aircraft would probably have achieved speeds in excess of 700 mph!. This particular aircraft is a prototype recon aircraft. For more info please visit www.luft46.com, there are many other unusual aircrafts on this site besides this one.

Sa-weet! ;D 8)

Very nice scenery, if I may say so myself...

Hope you enjoyed them.  ;)

Oh and this is what it looks like in a severe thunderstorm when you try to land it for the first time at a (too) small strip. :o  ;D

I have that plane also. Love it. However, I can't figure out how to land the darn bird without flying out the other end of the runway. ::)

I know what you mean, Katahu.  I got that plane once, took off in it and had a wonderful time!  Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to get her slowed down enough to stay on that durn runway.  Even JFK's runways aren't long enough! ::)

It makes me wonder what the aviation world would be like now if the Nazis had won. Obviously it wouldn't be a very nice place, but the crazy stuff the survivors would be flying about in...?  The mind boggles.
