Today I was pratting around in a Hawker Tempest in and around Iraq (I think that is where this certain one was based), and I found a, uh, 'new' way of takeoff:


Ready for 'takeoff', Sarge!!


Hurtling down the runway, reaching TO speed.....


V1, should I say it in a Tempest (I don't think they had V speeds?)
"Sir, shouldn't you be going the other way?"


Here we go...the start of my TO strategy!!


Nose on/in.....


Tempest gets flung into air.....


Spin her round and fly away.

It sure was fun, only problem is A) it wouldnt happen in reaality and B) the pilot would probably be killed.

I love the way the skidmarks took off also. Gives a real impression of speed.
