Just as I receive my landing clearance from the tower,  the airport emerges from the murk. Perfect timing- I'm just a hair high, but already flying very slowly,












Final approach... there's a slight crosswind, but the visibility is excellent, considering.












Still a little high... I intercept the VASI glideslope right after passing over the VOR station.













A better landing than usual, but a bit off-center...












And then it's over, as EQDC3's wheels kiss the runway at 2130 by the clock.
 I've done it... I've flown around the world at the equator- solo!!












After receiving taxi instructions, I try to call the crew on the private frequency... but there's no answer.











That's okay... I need a minute after shutdown to just sit and thank this plane for bringing me all this way under such trying conditions. She's been a real pal...









Still not quite believing it's over, I deplane and wander over to the terminal. Where the hell are those guys?
As I enter the building, a mighty cheer rings out from the crew and a whole flock of locals... there's a band, a lavish spread of food and drink... I'm hugged and pounded on the back, and some pretty girls drag me onto the dance floor...
 And as we party into the night in celebration of my mighty "triumph of the whim", my DC3 waits patiently on the ramp for the next adventure.

Wow, it's over. I nearely can't believe it. Excellent work there!! It was an awesome series. I can't wait for your next one (If there is one). Let me be one of the first to say a big congratulations!!

Wow, that was a really incredible journey, even with compression, you seem to have done it by navigating properly, which impresses me, a 'non-serious' (but still obsessed ) simmer.... Congratulations, and thanks for sharing with us, it was an interesting read!

Wow...you've come full circle......it must have been amazing for you RD, real cool!
  It almost saddens me to see that its over, though, it was such a brilliant read. What will you come up with next?
Anyway, thanks for a damn good job well done, very entertaining.
  Oh, and when you arrived in the terminal, the guy at the back of the band with a kazoo-that was me!  ;D
