RTW-TWO Leg 3
I sit in the bar of the hotel most of the night, mourning my permanently disabled AG-14. Todd comes to join me.
"I'm sorry. We did all we could, but it was unrepairable." I sat there going through my fifth Bundy and Cola. At this rate I won't be flying till tomorrow night. I stagger up to my room and flop onto my bed. Something heavy drops to the ground. I get up and pick it up. I look at it and realise it's a laptop. It must be Todd's. I decide to go on to the net and see if I had some e-mails. The computer starts up and instead of my e-mails coming up, Todds does. I read the e-mail being displayed. It came from the Chinese government. 'Congratulations on the successful elimination of our fellow diplomat, the money will be in your account by tomorrow' I think back to the assasinated Chinese diplomat that was all over the news last month, could there be a connection? I hear footsteps in the hall and quickly close the laptop. I pretend to be passed out on the bed. Todd doesn't take a second look at me and climbs into his bed. The next morning I go to explore the city, partly to get out of the hotel, partly to think about my discovery but mainly to clear my hangover. Todd isn't who he says he is. SO who is he really? I have to get to the laptop again to find out more. I head back to the airport and file an IFR plan to Hong Kong. I call up Todd to let him know we're leaving. Him and his crew arrive and board the plane. They head down to the cargo hold while I head to the cockpit. It is late afternoon. I taxi to the runway and take off.

During the climb I decide to turn on the intercomm to listen in on Todd and his crew, I was quite sure they were part of his operation. I heard the voice of one of them.
"Why the hell are we going to Hong Kong? It will delay our plans!" Another voice came up, it was Todd's.
"We can't force him. We need to keep him on side. I'll coax him into going where we need to. We'll still make the deliveries in time." The other voice piped up again.
"Are you sure? The troops are already seriously depleated, we need to get the stock to them NOW!"
"Don't worry, we will get there." The voices faded as they walked away from the intercomm. This has given me more to think about. Apparently there is a plan going through at the moment, but what was it?? I ponder about it as we slide over th Phillipines towards Hong Kong.

They said that they needed to deliver some cargo. Obviously they had more in the cargo hold than Monster. Tonight, after we land, I'll check it out. I awaken from my thoughts when turbulence starts bumping the plane around. I look up and see some clouds ahead. I call ATC and ask for 13000 feet.

My mind wonders to another fact that has been bothering me. Why do they need me to fly? Why are they using me? I can't come up with an answer. I think about it until the last of the Phillipines slides away and the sea opens up before me

The sky has cleared again. I stare down at the sea. It eases my mind for a little while, until I see some clouds ahead and the turbulence returns. I decide to stay and fight it, it'll keep my mind off things.

After another hour I'm handed off to Hong Kong approach. They vector me onto final. I come in a little high but I drop the nose and glide in nicely.

I park the plane and start heading towards customs. Todd has stayed back on the plane. Just before I pass into the building, i look back and see the nose door of the cargo hold open. I enter the door wondering as to the purpose.
