RTW-TWO: Leg 1 Part 2

I'm soaring in the air, free as a bird! I have no need for a plane, I CAN FLY!! I swoop, loop, dive, spiral. I can continue this for hours, and I do! My free flight is disturbed by a low rumbling in the back of my mind. I shake my head to try and clear it, but get a splitting headache in return. I open my eyes, I'm no longer flying. Instead I'm in the bashed about cockpit of my AG-14. The world has a funny tilt to it. I sit there staring until I realise why. I have crashed!! The nose and left wing of my AG-14 have been buried into the gorund of the outback. Hold on a tick, OUTBACK?!!? Last I rembered I was over mountainous regions with thick forests. I must have passed out. I suddenly remembered the cracking and then the blackout. How did I end up in the desert though? The only explanation I could come up with was the engine had cut out and my trim was just right for a glidepath. The low rumbling slowly grows louder over time. Hold on! That isn't a rumble, it's a plane! I fumble around for my flare and look out the window.

I spot the plane and launch the flare. I wait anxiously while the glowing red beacon slowly drifts down, wondering if they had seen it. THEY HAVE!! The plane turns and starts descending. It lands and taxis towards me.

The sole pilot takes a look at me.
"Geez mate, whatcha done?" He has a thick outback accent.
"I dunno. I woke up and found my plane buried" I reply
He "tsks" and lifts me into the back seat where he lays me down. Take-off is a very bumpy affair with all the rocks littering the ground. The bumping sends a searing ache through my head. Itry to to focus on something. I read "Maule M-7-260" on the dash and as the plane leaves the ground I pass out.

I awake just before landing. We're lined up on final with a sand runway. I never caught the name of the airport. As we hover over the runway I pass out again and dream of flying.
