My first world tour (part III)

Hello all: After a couple of days without sufficient free time to fly, the last weekend i was able to depart from Inverness to Reijkiavik (Iceland).

Inverness runaway is short for an Il-76 fully loaded. I tried on friday various safe take offs with 30, 50, 60 and 70% of fuel cargo. Take off with 70% was dangerous, because the plane run on the grass some meters before climb, and i decided take off only with 60% fuel.

Leaving Inverness on saturday.

Minutes later. Bye bye England, next stop Reijkiavik.
Image

Over the sea. Only 37 tons of fuel remaining. Engines at 70% to save fuel. Sufficient to reach Iceland?

Two hours later. (Note: I fly always on real time, not compressed)

Pity they didn't model the built-in service crane on the Ilyushin...

Unlucky on the landing! I think you may have to wait a couple of days to start again to give a little time for repairs!

Very cool planes you're featuring here, and a wild crash!!! That's going to be a long Pacific flight, non-compressed...I don't compress much either these days....

...the slew function is a lot less trouble on those long boring bits... ;D

Very thanks for the comments folks. I hope learn some lessons about this hard landing. I underestimated the weight of an almost empty plane and the floating efect over the runaway. Perhaps Reijkiavik not are the best place to land (I beliving that is an "international" airport with long runaways), perhaps Keflavik was a better option. Well I hope continue the world tour "after repairs". My intention is fly towards Greenland and Canada, but, first, i need locate a "safe" and good airport. Thanks again for waching.

And sorry for my non good english.
