Ok.. I managed to find that tutorial on how to create and texture a house in gMax last night, and ever since I found it, I have been hard at work further enhancing Sanderson Field.

Here are some more screenshots of Sanderson Field, and some of the objects I created with photoreal textures.

Here's the sign at the Airport Entrance end of Sanderson Field, on its south end.

Image

The Industrial Entrance of Sanderson Field on the north end.

The modified hangar complex (this is where I deleted default data).

Image

Custom-built and correctly scaled VASI fixtures (these will be a part of a Rwy12 object library). These are specially designed to work right behind the default VASI lighting effect. These feature a custom texture mapping with simulated lenses and rust on the supports. (These are modelled after the VASI fixtures at Sanderson Field)

Image

A runway side light (there are a total of fifty-seven in all). This was modelled after a runway side light I have in my house. I found it in a truck show swap meet!

Image

A custom weather station, complete with anemometer (wind gauge), a weather vane, as well as radio antennas and a transparent rain gauge! (there are two of these, the other is slightly different and taller)

Image

An aerial preview of the modifications thus far.

Nice job, 206.

Are you gonna upload it?

Yeah. I'm in the process of compiling all the installation directories for it and a very extensive HTML readme, as well as designing the scenery.

I hope to have the entire package completed in two to three weeks.

Looks great! Though is it much of an FPS killer?

Yeah, it does have a slightly noticeable impact on frames, but I am working to rectify the situation.

But then again, users with much more powerful PCs than mine may not experience a framerate hit at all.
