RTW Flight - Leg 03

Starting off my third leg of the great journey around the world. Fully fueled and had a good lunch.
Image

Weather in Texas is looking mighty nice today.
Image

Just about to cross the border into Mexico.
Image

I guess the Mexican authorities have other priorities because I got this far and I still haven't been pulled over yet.
Image

Uh oh, it's getting dark and the weather ain't looking too good.
Image

Airports are incredibly sparse in this region. The next airport is about over an hour away. I don't have enough fuel for that. So this airport will have to do.
Image

This is not easy at all. As you read the numbers on top, the weather is forcing me into a major cross-wind landing.
Image

Well, I managed to land. However, not without some damage. The landing gears gave out and the props have gone bye-bye. Engine repairs were also needed. Fortunately for me, the plane can still be restored to airworthy conditions.

Look in the bright side, at least I managed to piss off the Mexican authorities. ;D

PS: The airport I landed at is Gen Francisco Javier Mina airport.
