RTW Flight - Leg 01

Postby Katahu » Mon Sep 05, 2005 4:01 am

Taking off from Ocean Reef Club [07FA] in Florida. I heard the weather looks nice with small chance of lightning.
Image

Hmm. It doesn't look so bad from here. I'm heading south and working my way around Southern FL.
Image

Uhh... It's starting to look a bit rough. But it's managable.

Finally managed to reach 30,000 ft. It's finally quiet up here.
Image

Starting to run out of fuel. The nearest airport is Apalachicola Mun [KAAF], FL. Weather is still bad down here.
Image

Finally landed, parked, engines off, equipment and other stuff off. Ready for the next leg.

Take-off Time: 0230 hours EST
Touchdown Time: 0430 hours EST

Apalachicola Mun is Northwest Florida, near the coast.

PS: My round-the-world trip will be to fly along the coast of every continent.

Good stuff Katahu, I shall be watching this one with interest. I assume you will now be making your way west along the southern coast towards Mexico yes?

Great shots, but just one question - why fly at night when there is so much more to see during the day??

Good luck on your trip.

+1, I'll look in on your progress. How about some dawn/dusk shots?  :)

Flying at night adds to the challange. I like a challange. But since you prefer to see day, dawn, or dusk shots, I'll fly in those times.

No need to fly during the day just for my sake Katahu. It's your tour so you fly it whenever you like, I was just saying that when I fly, I prefer to do it during the day.

Have a good one.
