What a good system can do...

With the new system... there is a HUGE quality improvement... almost anything can be put to maximum settings now

Image
Flightsim at max detail and max 3D clouds. Framerate only drops in heavy cloud cover, and that to a somewhat flyable rate of 15 fps (thats above the average that my previous one got)

Image
Half Life 2... just one tad below maximum settings. Even better when going close up.

Image
Farcry... and there is yet anoter step in texture quality. This game is a little conservative in the texture detail department, as it doesn't take in account the fact that the game stays well below the 'Let's use the disk cache' memory useage level, allowing for more textures being loaded in main memory

Hey, thats a nice system. but i have to tell you that on my system, the images look alot better than anyone's ive seen on this forum.

recently i came across a large sum of money, so i bought alot of crap ive always wanted  8)
i currently have 2 comps:

one has a pentium EE 3.73, 4 GB of ram, and two crossfire X850XTs

the other has an FX-55 with 3.99 GB of ram (  ;D ) and two 7800GTxs.

both have dual raptors in RAID0

they both are exceptional performers but their advantage over most which i think is more important is the ability to run with full details on at resolutions over 1600x1200.
