I figured that for some mysterious reason Microsoft left Area 51 (Groom Lake AFB) Nevada out of FS2004. So I decided to go with the freeware addon to include it.

This is what I got, can anyone help me correct this problem.



I decided to slew over Area 51 to see if the issue continued even from the air. But as you clearly see the airfield is visible from the air!



But as I bring the aircraft down to the ground seems like Microsoft is trying to hide the secret airbase under the sand!



Just what the heck is going on here, the closer I get to the ground the more sand is covering the airfeild.



That covers it literally the airbase is totally unusuable. It is like government paid Micorsoft to make sure this area stays under raps, even if someone recreated it. As you can see the desert has swallowed the air field completely.

Strange. Something to do with altitude and addon mesh?
Its not in FS originally because its not actually officially recognised as an airbase i believe.

Edwards Airforce base IS in the default scenery, I believe the pentagon adimtted to the existance of the secret test facility after a law suit due to hazedous chemical use.

Try to flatten the area out through the scenery.cfg file

edwards is completly different from groom lake.

edwards is california.
Area 51 is nevada.

My oopsie  ;D You are completely right Storm Trooper. I did have to flatten the area through the scenery cfg. Only problem is Area 51 (NV51) for some reason did not register in to the CFG folder like all the other addon scenery so I cannot add the flatten line the author of the scenery provided?  ???

I am now attempting to reinstall the scenery with the Afcad 2 file placed into the Scenery (addon folder) and the Area 51 file directly into the addon folder to see if that gets it to register.

Well... maybe it's s'posed to be like this... There are some weird things going on around area 51  8)

Oh, that place..............I've been there so many times its really not allllll that....a couple of aliens (some are nice) but if you stay with your SMP then its really no problem.....

Infact I think I took some holiday snaps of it....
