What can be posted here?

Just a thought; Could it be possible to post pics in the freeware forum, if the major point in the pic is freeware, if there is a payware in the background like a Traffic add-on or ground texture add-on? If not, that means if you have some sort of payware like those I said, then all the pics in the future must go into the payware section.

I think if you can see any payware, then its payware...

...so if you have ActiveSky, and unless you take nothing but pictures of the ground, your pertty much doomed to the payware section... :P

Dr_Who, here's a bit of info to add to Stormtroopers answer. Your question is currently being discussed in the payware forum by Krigl and Ozzy72.

Here's the "short" rules description for payware posts..
http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=paywareshots;action=display;num=1059018862

And the rules posted right here on the freeware section for freeware posts by Fly2e:
What Type Of Images Are Posted Here?
This forum is for screenshots of freeware only. This means aircraft and scenery. If you have any payware at all in a shot, e.g. Emmas Field, then it belongs in the Payware Screenshots Forum.

And here is the discussion they had yesterday..http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=paywareshots;action=display;num=1122499680
I hope Stormtrooper and I have helped you out.

Yeah, I asked that question a while ago about Ultimate Traffic. I was going to post shots of it in the Payware section when I thought that Ultimate Traffic uses PAI Aircraft...All the rest of the scenery and all were stock. The reply I got? Get to the payware section :P ::) 8)
I guess you are bound to the Payware section if you use something that's globally payware like Active Sky.
Cheers,
Ashar ;)

I asked about Flight Environment which as a newbie I didn't imagine meant scenery (I was thinking of airport and mesh addons) and basically anything whatever which is payware, clouds, lights etc - if it's in your shot it goes in payware. That is the mods decision, and as it is they who devote a lot of their time to run this site what they say goes.

In case you are wondering about that thread  Clipper's referring to I deleted my posts because some of my comments were perhaps out of order - not meant to be but still... and I posted an apology. Hope it ends there :-[

I just tried something which seems to work well - I  renamed my texture folder with FE "texture FE" and then copied the texture folder from disc 2 of the installation discs into FS9. Now, if I want to take screenies for the payware forum, or for the other site I'm on where anything goes, I'll change textureFE to texture and texture to textureFSsky... and for this forum I'll do the opposite and take my shots using FSSky world using freeware textures... I'd imagine its possible to do the same with active sky if that's what you have.

Just a note about Ultimate traffic - I was thinking of getting Ultimate Traffic until I realised it was basically a one-shot install of all project AI's stuff which I already have. I suspect that, apart from the extra services and the ease of use, it isn't really worth getting if you have the patience to download all Project AIs stuff one by one and install them, Takes hours but it's free. . Word of warning - in case you didn't know, with each project ai install they ask you to check a box if you want the planes to be invisible on the "select aircraft" screen. If you say you want the planes to be visible  they are, but they have to be loaded every time you start FS9 and it takes for ever. That's my sad and sorry tale on that one...
