Well, I just finished the first leg of my new flight thingy.  I plan on flying around texas, starting in Harlingen and going around the border on a bunch of flights until I wind up back in harlingen.

Right now, I think that I'm gonna stick with the turbo commander, but I might switch planes for one or two legs.

Leg 1: Valley Intl, Harlingen-----> Corpus Christi Intl.

Well, I tuned Corpus and requested to land 31nm out, got straight in aproach(thank gad!!) But as I neared the airport this mooney request to land 2.5 nm out.  The tower was nice and let me go first, but I got a bit close, just to teach the mooney pilot his lesson.


Parked and secured after a pretty crappy landing, need some more practice in this plane.


Next leg: Corpus Christi-------> Scholes Intl at Galveston

no, Im not using real world weather.  Especially because the weather in texas sux right now.  Its been raining here for a week.

Cool, hauling the oil tycoons and ranchers around, eh?  Love the Commander, one of the best planes out there!

Funny, with my work in avionics development (weather radar), we're about to head out to "tornado alley" to do some data collection on thunderstorms (we'll be flying in a Citation), and we could well be doing some real buzzing about Texas in search of that same weather!
