LFPG to KSFO (Air France 747-400)

Once again I'm far behind on my posts.  Think I last left off in Hong Kong but not to sure.  From HK I flew to Manila and back, then from HKG back to Paris.  Took a short hop down to Spain then it was off to San Francisco.

After a short game of "lets wait in line" its finaly our turn to take the runway.  4 others are behind me.
Image
Climbing slowly.  Very heavy, and took most of the runway to takeoff.
Image
Cruising along at 36,000 feet and joining the race to the US.  Of around 9 other flights departing around the same time only one headed east.
Image
Somewhere past the UK.  The contrail in the distance is NW 50 heading for Paris.  Had he been a few degrees to his left, would have passed right under me at FL350.  Crossed paths with several other flights over the Atlantic.
Image
Cruising along the California coast somewhere near LA.
Image
Slight turn over LAX.  Strange route today that sent me south before heading north to SFO.
Image
Slowing down.  Overshot half the runway and probably should have gone around.  But full brakes and reverse solved that little isue ::)
Image
Parked and ready for unloading.  Only 1.5 hours late due to the changes in the route and headwinds :-/  A little over 2 hours before returning to Paris.

Nope...POsky 747-400...And I'm still flying around the ol FS2002 world :P  The contrails are a replacement for the default, found somewhere on Avsim.  A lot more realistic.  And go for all aircraft ;)

this is going to seem a little off topic but when flying these super long huals what do you do? The only reason I ask is because I am do for a promotion at my VA and the first flight I fly as a heavy FO will be probably CYYZ to Heathrow. It'll be online so i'll be able to talk to ATC but when crossing the pond what do you do? Time accelerate or just sit back and watch movies?

I'm flying for my VA as well.  Only its the Flying Tigers Group.  You don't have to fly online as with some other VAs.  They trust you did the flight.

For the long hauls I level off at cruising altitude, set the auto pilot, and make sure things are flying smoothly...Mostly I start these flights late at night so I can go to bed and wake up with a little time before landing, or in this case almost 3 hours before.  For awhile I would start one before work...But getting up at 4 AM just to start a flight didnt last to long ::)

All my flights are done in real time but not always "real time." (no time excel...Just not always the real time of that day)

It works out for me that If its an afternoon or morning flight out of Paris then with the time difference I can takeoff and land along with the one in real life.  Sittting in this chair for the entire 12 hours would be hell ::)  Maby one of these days I will join online for one of the shorter long hauls.  Out of 56 flights only 5 have been online.  Mainly because up untill recently I had a dial-up connection :-/

Wow man, I flew from san francisco to hawaii once (hilo) and for me it was like it toock ages. Cont imagine flying from spain to san francisco.  ;D

And I also flew from seattle tacoma to san francisco in a continental 737 ;D (about the longest flyght) Luckily I didnt run out of fuel. 8)

ps: I also hate flying in clear weather like that. To unrealistic ;)

I always download real weather before pushback and the again about 75 miles from landing.  But somethings wrong because as soon as I push back it will sometimes just clear up to nothing even though it was overcast a few seconds before.  So I just leave it how it is and dont bother waisting the time to DL it.  Just add a few clouds sometimes and some turbulence :-[

Triple 7, in your weather page what is the rate of change? Because I too had a similar problem and found that lowering the rate of change helps keep things realistic.

Would have no idea.  Dont think FS2002 has that option :-[  It worked just fine for awhile.  But something happened a couple weeks ago and now this.  Might just backup somethings and uninstall-reinstall at some point.
