It's been a very slow process, but I am (and have been for a few years now) working on a Top Flite P-40E Warhawk... which is my favorite WWII aircraft. When finished it will have a 5'4" wingspan and 4' 5" length, retracting landing gear (kit doesn't provide plans for a retracting tailwheel, but I will modify it to include a scale tail retract), flaps, and bomb-dropping mechanism. So far I have only started on the Fuselage.
Obviously, it's going to be a much longer time before I actually finish this plane, as the requred accessories (including engine and much needed computer radio) will run me a couple thousand dollars in debt. lol Luckily I got the kit (with a few extras like scale drop tank, and dropping mechanism, and book on the P-40E with many profile shots) on E-bay for about $60, as opposed to the $160 they ask for at the stores.
Here are some pics of what she should look like when done...

I'm very excited to get the landing gear/pneumatics all set up... I LOVE the landing gear on the P-40, as the mains rotate 180* as they go to into the wells. I'm probably gonna put the thing up on jacks and sit there for hours flipping the switch, watching them go up and down. :p
LOL and when I do finish this plane, chances are I'll wait a very, VERY long time before flying it (if I even do at all)
Another one I'm working on, the Great Planes Ultimate Biplane 40. As for this one, I completed the top wing, and all tail surfaces. This will be a very quick build, as she's a tiny little plane! It only has about a 4' wingspan. lol Cute little plane!
Anyway, here are some pics of someone elses Ultimate Bipe for ya...

Anyway, enjoy! Hopefully I'll be able to work on both of these planes over the summer between airshows, work, and flying.
