Awsome Model

Postby Mistral » Wed Mar 30, 2005 9:22 am

Just thought i would show u guys this little jet. The model and texture quality are amazing. One of the best quality freeware downloads i have seen.

The aircraft is a Cessna Citiation II and the model/textures are made by Veneavions Simulation.

Is it an ex-payware model???

Another good point about the aircraft is that it runs really smoothly even on a poor system like mine!

Who cares about virtual cockpits, does anyone actually use them? I mean they look pretty, but thats pretty much all. (in my opinion) I am sure someone will 'beg to differ'.

Pretty plane, but the second shot is WAY over the limit...
Great edit, Bob.

Little explanation... Foxhound is quite strickt on the VC-thingy, he won't fly one without! And he can be a bit... well... direct. But we all love him, don't we?  ;D  ;D  ;D

If he's so strict on it maybe he would care to elaborate on whats so good about them, because i really don't see the point in them.

I don't think he really needs to justify his opinion.  If he doesn't like the lack of a VC, he doesn't get the plane.

I could not possibly care less about a VC myself, but that's my opinion.  It doesn't really need to be justified.
Great edit, Bob.

Fair enough, but if you feel that strongly about something i think that u must have some reasons.

Ahhhhhhhhh the VC, or not to VC debate goes on... ::)

Personally I dont think the VC, or lack thereof is what makes, or breaks a plane. As long as it is a well done model which flies nicely is the most important.  ;D
But just my two cents worth...

P.S. I love that Citation  :P

I a VC, you can pan your view around, take a quick look out of the window for looking at the landscape or other air traffic.  Plus, you can practically operate all of the aircrafts' systems from there.
All of that together creates a better "being there" feeling than sitting in font of a flat and boring 2D panel.
I hope that MS goes the way that the CFS series went. VCs only.

I think that makes it 3-1 Foxhound. ;)
I totally agree with what you are saying, except for the operating the aircraft fully from the VC. But i just do not think it 'makes or breaks the aircraft'. Plus i don't think i have ever downloaded more that 5 freeware addons with visually acceptable VC's.

The Citation II is nice, but my favourite in the series would be the Citation X, fastest bussiness jet in the world if i remember correctly, but i'm yet to find a good model of it. :(

I don't care whether I'm in a minority here with my opinion. Let all the others out there be happy in front of their 2D panels. I'll enjoy my flight from the VC with my jaw on the floor.
Thanks Veneaviones for the excellent Turbo Commander!

My FS aircraft collection includes:

- SamDim's An-24
- Veneaviones's Rockwell Turbo Commander 690
- CalClassic's Convair 440
- the Howard 500
- PWDT's Let 410 UVP
- AFG's NAMC YS-11
- M.Maliniemi's Valmet L-70

All of them have excellent VCs and are of payware quality (especially the Turbo Commander and the Vinka).
