Shocking FPS

Postby TSC. » Tue Mar 29, 2005 1:52 pm

Hi all,

I was just starting a tour down the Nile & playing around with views when I found my FPS cracking these sort of numbers - was quite shocked 'cause i've never seen above 100 before.

I know the scenery in Egypt is a bit sparse, but I still had all of my settings on ultra high. (& no, the screenshot hasn't been edited).

Cool.

Er...woah...but...I wouldn't give your house address to anyone...you never know who might turn up asking for demanding your PC   ;). Very nice fps  ;D, proof this game can run amazing.

Turn on tons of clouds in the middle of NYC and post what your frames are then......

Hi all,

|| Andrew || got it, it only runs that fast in the 'top down' view, otherwise the spot plane view slows right down - if i go to Heathrow during the day i'll be lucky to hit 20, otherwise most of the time i'm getting 40-50 fps as I usually 'sim' in fair weather settings. (It's also quicker in the window view instead of full screen like Rifleman said).

I'm using 1280x1024x32 for the frame resolution & a Radeon x300 series.0 graphics card, but this is just the standard card that came with the pc.

For some reason i'd always assumed that 100 fps was the max.

Not bad for a 'bog standard' Dell Dimension 5000 I thought.

Cheers guys,

TSC.

PS: Sorry about all the 'Hi all's' Foxhound - I got a bit jittery with the 'enter' button.
