Vintage Plane...Vintage Airport

A B307 starting out at Croydon...

Taxiing out...

And taking off.

Wading through that fog that London is famous for...

And landing...

I don't really know if TWA actually owned the B307 (based on the B29 bomber...).  From what I read, they rejected that one in favor of the Lockheed Constellation.

The plane is a FS2002 plane that works just fine in FS2004, and has a VC (b307.zip).  The Scenery is Vintage London Airports (vla.zip and vlatxfx.zip...you'll need both files).  I found all three at Flightsim.com (dunno if they're here or not).

Thanks for looking ;D

Very nice.

The buildings are still there and I pass them now and again. There's a Heron or a Dove I think it is outside mounted on a large pole. Great that the plane is there but sad in a way because you know that it'll never ever fly again and it's just rotting away.

BTW

The missing pic is the same as the last one

That's a really fine vintage series Jordon. How does that plane handle? I'd think similar to a DC-3. Where's the moon over bourbon street?  : ;)

:)

Tell you what as well....I'm trying to place the mountain that's apparently next to the old Croydon airport site that you can see in the take off shot

::)

oh silly me. Must learn to read. It's a landing shot presumably at the destination. Sorry Bill....

A little mistake,Jeff. It was the B377 that was based on the B-29, not the B307.

You'll notice the B307 shares a lot with the B-17...

BOAC & Pan Am used the B377 or Stratocruiser as it was more commonly known. http://www.flare.net/users/e9ee52a/apaam.htm

The B307 was called the Stratoliner.

Jolly nice shots. BTW ;)
