Stormtrooper, as flyboy_14 mentioned, you couldn't have picked a more innapropriate time to make a tasteless joke like that. Until now, I haven't seen any cultural, religious or political rudeness on this great site. I really hope you can realign your "humourous" remarks.

Er...not to excuse that remark (nor to downplay the tragedy of the killed Canadian officers), but here in America, cops are killed or disabled every day....

Jordon, I think the real issue here is that it's important that we don't put ourselves in embarrasing situations by making those types of remarks at any time. When you do, it's (as you can see) it's inevitable that someone will be offended. As I mentioned previously, I don't see any justification to insult any religious, cultural or political entity. There's so much more to do and discuss here on SimV, the last thing we need is animosity or hostility, even if it was initiated by someone's crude attempt at humour. And believe me, any time a police officer dies in the line of duty, anywhere, it is a very dis-heartening thing. I know you agree with me.

OK, enough of that conversation.

I just find it amazing that a truck can push a plane that
   >weighs 200X at least as much as the truck
   > can hold probably 40 of those trucks

i guess credit also goes to the pole between the truck & the aircraft. that takes the most pressure.

Did you ever see the guy who tried to pull a 747 by hand on the TV?

1st...please excuse my rudeness...unfortuneately I was not aware of the situation...and also, I live outside the 2nd (former 1st) most dangerous town in the United States, Detroit...and all what you hear on CNN now days is nothing besides the death toll in Iraq....

Guess we aren't too big fans of South Park or Family Guy here... :P

And 2nd...I think I seen that guy on Guinesses Prime Time a few years back...or am I thinking of someone else?

Stormtropper, I appreciate your understanding. I know you weren't trying to be hostile or mean spirited. I'm sure you'll be a little more "diplomatic" with your humor in the future. ;)

Drum, did you know that an ant can push an object something like 500 times it's body weight for really long distances? Oh, and sorry we turned your post into a behavioural debate. :)

Another interesting thing: I read that 747's have 4 main undercarriages to spread the weight of the aircraft (thus avoiding damage to the taxiways and the aircraft itself) but 747's are also, by regulation, certified to land on just 2 of their 4 main undercarriages. (imagine the weight and strain on the struts and wheels, especially in a crosswind landing)
