THE B1B Lancer Rebirth!

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Sun Mar 06, 2005 8:23 pm

I would like to take this moment to thank WD (Whiskey Delta) for uncovering this baby! Many of us must have been frustrated with the I3D Team B1Blancer and its 6 files downloads that led to an unstable aircraft!

Well rejoice flyers if you read the thread by Whiskey Delta "WD" you will discover the website that is offering a free download of the ACTOC B1B [don't download the I3d team version].

here I am taking off from Honolulu Intl on a test flight

She flies very stable like your flying a totally different aircraft then the I3D team version.

The wings have no problem sweeping and deploying!

                             The bottom line

The ACTOC B1B is hands down a flyable aircraft. The only following issues have been noticed, but these issues are a drip in the bucket! I am sure many will be satisfied with the version just because it looks great and the most important feature ....IT FLIES

1. You don't have full flaps with this aircraft (Full flaps just fully deploys the wings from the swept position)

2. You have no afterburner effects on this aircraft.

3. You have no reverse thrusters, so you do have to come in with the airbrakes on and use of the wheel brakes to come to a stop. Which means you have to come in at about 140knots to ensure you don't over shoot the runway  :-/!

But like I said before this is a drip in the bucket because I only care about one feature on this plane! IT FLIES!  ;D

Going back on the landing, You definately have to bring her in steady at about 240 knots and just as you touch down hit the airbrakes and apply the wheel brakes to bring it to a stop. (You need alot of runway example JFK or Honolulu Intl length airstrip).

I also noticed that the aircraft sits a little under the scenery! The wheels are under ground partially when you sit on the runway and tarmac. but it doesn't interfere with driving the aircraft are flying it down the runway for take off. Just another fluke to deal with!

I am wondering if you can take the old I3d Skins and apply it to this aircraft. After all it is the same I3D aircraft the only difference is the airfile!
