Flying Around Africa II

Postby TacitBlue » Tue Feb 15, 2005 4:21 pm

As promised, heres some more from my sim-trip around Africa. We left off at a lake in rowanda, but unfortunatley I didnt take many shots between there and Lesotho, and the ones I have are kind of boring. My first shot here is crossing the Northeastern boarder of Lesotho at sunset. By the time I reached me destination, it was completely dark and the runway had no lights! Hell for a VFR pilot. Image

the next day I left lesotho, and headed straight for the coast. When I got there, and turned west toward Port Elizibeth I found storm clouds brewing. Image

shortly after takeoff from Port Elizibeth those clouds became a full blown thunderstorm. Image

The rain stopped, and a thick mist hung in the air around the Mossel Bay airport (I think thats where it was), which was my second to last stop on this portion of the trip. Image

As I neared Capetown, I flew out of the storm. The light cross wind on landing seemed like nothing compaired to what I had just flown through. Image

Enjoy. That is as far as Ive gotten so far, the rest of the trip will be northward on Africas west coast. And Ill try and locate Victoria falls, If I havnt passed it already, expect some shots.
