700th Post and a 777 (Bangkok to Singapore

Doesnt seem that I could have posted so many times sence I signed up  Guess it shows how great this place really is

Holding short of 21R for departure.  There is an acual reason I am heading for Singapore which you will find out later


Roaring into the sky.  Only a short 2.5 hour hop to WSSS.

Almost to 35,000 feet.  

Cabin is secure and the tower has cleared us for landing.  We are a little early today.

A passenger on an adjacent 777 took this photo as we pulled up to the gate.  


My next destination is to take on the longest nonstop flight in the world.  The 16+ hour flight from WSSS to KLAX on SQ 20.  A340-500  So far it is looking like I will be on my way Friday

Is'nt the longest flight in the world to JFK? Does'nt seem like it would take that long to fly to L.A.

Dont know if the NY route is active though...I have yet to find flightplans for it.  And here is a link I found http://www.exectravel.com/showdetail.asp?id=1303  It was supposed to be in effect.  Even Anet has only a couple pics of the Singapore A340-500 in NY.  So technicaly NY is the longest but from what i have found LAX is the longest active route right now.

Edit: I stand corrected.  I have just found a flight to Newark.  SQ 22.  Daily A340-500.  There is an interesting artical on the "ultra-long-haul" flights over at Singapore VA affiliated with the Flying Tigers Group.

Well...Its almost time to be off to LAX.  Its going to be a LONG flight but I'm somewhat looking forward to it.  Here is a map of the route.  SQ 20 nonstop A340-500 WSSS-KLAX.  From LAX I plan to make my way towards Newark and eventualy take the the accual longest flight in the world back to Singapore

then i should make my mention that I did a flight the other day (still looking for the flightplan) that was from sydney to Chicago(but of course). i did a direct GPS w/ no radio - i "sped up" the process. my GPS told me this would be a 24:02 flight.

I did this in a loaded Quantas 747-400, when I got to chicago, all my aux tanks were gone, and my main tanks at around 40% fuel in each.

does this flight exist?

Well, I have made it.  I did the entire flight in real time but not "real time"    I started it sometime around midnight last night and landed it about 5 PM.  It was using high altitude airways.  Though i set the auto pilot and went to bed  Even the real pilots of this flight do not stay awake the entire diration so why should I  It took a total of 17.1 hours.  I will be posting shots tommarow evening.  

And there might be a flight from sydney to chicago but it is deffinatly not non-stop.  Even flying the longest range airliner in the world I landed with hardly any fuel.  If the link i supplied in my posts above works then it can explain how these flights are done.  The official world longest flight is from EWR-SIN on the A340-500.  Singapore Airlines makes a lot of modifications to these aircraft just so they can pull off ultra-long-hauls.

You have to remember sim built aircraft are not exactly acurate.  Especialy the defaults  :-/  The 747 they have can fly nearly around the world on a full tank.  I dont know what the accual flying time of a real  747 but its probly no more then 14 hours

And just what do you DO during those 17.1 hours???
I'd kill myself, i just couldn't handle that withouth speeding things up to atleast 8x.  The longest flight i'm at is cross-country, and that was hard.  Good shots btw

As mentioned above i did it in real time....but not the exact time in real life.  I started it at midnight then after i made sure everything was cruising smoothly i went to bed.  Next morning we were moving my sister out of here and into her new appartment.  So that pretty much took the rest of the time.  I just let it fly on auto and checked whenever i got the chance  Its not very realistic but unlike real life there is nothing to do for most of it.  So whats the point of sitting here for all of it  As long as the takeoff and landing are ok then no problem
