The BUFF.  Short for Big Ugly Fat Fella  ;D.  What a great aircraft....still going strong after all these years....Latest rumor is that they're going to put 4 big high bypass turbofan jets on it to replace the 8 Cold War era turbojets.  Should be cool.

I never flew in the B52 however I know several RCAF pilots who did.  I managed to sit in one several times and talk about their Crosswind Landing Gear.  The last aircraft I sat in had 3 tons of unused wire in it....yes 3 tons...amazing.
The last B52 that was here that I recall taxied in with the State of Texas Flag flying higher than the American Flag.  I brought that to the ACs attention and was told the United States joined Texas,  that Texas did not join the United States...HMMMM :)LOL
(come to think of it that beggar still owes me a steak dinner to)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

That reminds me Steve of the Texan who told me his farm was so big, he could get in his half ton truck in the morning and drive all day and only be part way across his farm.
I told him to buy a Land Rover...would only take a couple hours then ;D ;D ;DLOL
Okay will go back down to the barn and stand in the corner ;)

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Nice! I'd love to see 4 turbofans on the B-52, I'll bet it would be a heck of a lot more efficient and thus have a longer range 8)

Ya I think that's what the Air Force brass is hoping for.

2040? What's the point? I guess they must have something up their sleeves like bombing Australia, just in case there's Kangaroos with WMDs in their pouches. :-X

Yeah looks great,

But I wait for a BUFF (I like them, much, too) with a proper VC. A bit more VC than Bonzies one.

This one doesn
