Err...the He-178 already fley in the last days of August, before the outbreak of WW2. ;)

You forget to mention that it could only fly for 20 minutes or so because the fan blades melted. ;D

You forget to mention that it could only fly for 20 minutes or so because the fan blades melted. ;D


8 minutes was the endurance attained...i improoved on that and u can fly for an hour or so on mine ;D hehehe better fan blades i guess ::)

whn i showed my Gloster Pioneer off, Josif Smurflin (Silent Exploder at the time) asked for the He178...and so did a couple people so here she is :)

You say that, but Mr Whittle had the jet engine invented before the chaps at Heinkel. I'll grant you that you had a jet plane before we did, but it could fly for all of eight minutes. Our first jet powered aircraft could go on forever.  ;D

The thing is, the German military might have been faster to utilise new inventions, but the British military always had them first. ;)

We didn't need all that new stuff. We could shoot down tens of thousands of aircraft with planes developed in the 1930s, which even still hat props!  ::)

I'd like to know how the war had turned out if the idiots in the RLM had given green lights to the Me 262 much earlier.
