Couldn't get the atmosphere right (autumn, late afternoon, few clouds, mild temperatures), but that didn't stop me from shooting those pics.

An Avro Anson coming in for a smooth landing at a former RAF airfield.

That Delta is THE coolest plane i've ever downloaded for FS (it's avaliable here too). My only complaint is that it lands like a kangaroo thats just sat on a pin cushion and it's not as fast as it should be. However, ozzy fixed me up a new airfile, landings a bit easier and I got from London to Paris in under 10 minutes. ;D

When it comes to SSC aicraft, nothing beats the Stratojet Excalibur. I've flown that thing across the pond (NYC - Paris) in about two and a half hours - at Mach 2.28.

When Ozzy returns contact him and ask for his revised Fairey Delta 2 airfile. Then fly the FD2 as much as possible and you'll realise it is truely the king of stupidly small, stupidly fast aircraft.

But the panel and the VC both are..*cough*...ugly.

Ok so the DVC is basic. But it does have a huge orange light with REHEAT written on it. ;D

Honestly, set it on an airfield, open the throttle wide, then turn on the afterburners and see how quickly you can get to 40,000 feet. Me thinks you'll do it in between one and two minutes.

It was certainly fast but I don't recall it being particularly small. In fact it was probably bigger than many similar aircraft of the period.

This is what I call small. http://www.sweptwings.co.uk/boulton_paul_p111a_gallery.htm

Nice shots Bjorn. I can't keep up with all these different Smurf names. ;)

Ah yes, I forgot about the nose. This is the Fairey Delta 1. Now that was small. http://1000aircraftphotos.com/Contributions/VanTilborg/2653.htm
