Passing the Time

Well, things continue not to go as planned.  On Saturday, Russel became very sick.  The symptoms included vomiting, abdominal cramps, and a fever.  We first suspected the flu, and took Russel to the hospital.

The problem turned out to be Appendicitis!

So, Russel is recovering in the hospital after surgery.  Actually, he is fit to go, but Dee Dee insists on his resting.  One more day.  I stayed with them for a couple days.  The Hospital just released him (forcibly ejected him is more like it...it seems the nurses were fed up with Dee Dee barking orders and demanding their attention over every little thing). ::)

We'll be leaving tomorrow for Pensacola Fl.  Russel will be spending Thanksgiving with friends.  In the meantime, I decided to get some more practice with taildraggers in this plane...

This plane sits high, so taxiing is a bit of a trick...

One interesting thing is that once the tail lifted, the whole plane lifted!  No going along with the tail up before takeoff!  This is a plane that likes to fly!

I flew north to get a look at downtown.

A pilot flying around in a Cessna snapped these next two.

One as I was flying over downtown...

Another as I was on final...

Another thing is that this plane has a lot of bounce on touchdown!  But then...no bounce, no play...

After flying for a half hour, parked the plane and went back to the hotel.  Russel is feeling fine, but Dee Dee will baby anyone she can (one of the annoying things about her).  But she does agree we can go tomorrow.
