Georgia on my mind
Well, the next evening, Dee Dee and Russel caught up with me (I was hanging out at the airport and admiring the sunset on my Lake).

Apparently Dee Dee and Suzie had a falling-out as well. Dee Dee wouldn't speak of it, but I have a feeling it had to do with her converting to Judaism when she married Russel, something I doubt Suzie knew about.
It was getting to be dusk (about 5:00pm), but we all wanted to move on so I got the Lake refuled.

After takeoff, Barry got some shots of us. He followed us for a bit and happily e-mailed the shots to me!

I too, got some shots of the sunset...(in between communicating with ATC with the Flight Following).

Thankfully, James Taylor was not requested this time. I played some of Dire Straits, then The Boss (Bruce Springsteen for those of you who don't know), and finished up with the Moody Blues. Both Russel and Dee Dee dozed off somewhere between Tuesday Afternoon and Knights In White Satin. I resisted the urge to snap a shot of them in the back (they don't like their picture taken).
The weather was clear until we got closer to KAGS. Not exactly a surprise since I had checked the weather before we left. I had filed an IFR plan just in case, but I never had to activate it. I flew at 6500' for most of the way, then brought us down to 3000' when we were 20nm out...

One thing that was not expected was that the wind would play wierd. When I tuned the ATIS at about 20nm out the Runway in use was 17. When I got closer, and radioed to land, ATC directed me to runway 35! So I retuned my NAV radio to the ILS for that runway...currently on crosswind...

Can just make out the end of the runway...
.jpg)
No worries, I gave myself plenty of room for approach.
.jpg)
And got the plane parked...
.jpg)
Amazingly enough, even though we encountered some wind and turbulence, both Dee Dee and Russel were asleep even after we landed (it was only 7:00 or so). I went to the bathroom, leaving a note so they wouldn't wonder, and came back to both of them still fast asleep!
So I rousted them and we got rooms at a hotel...
