Ouch in Kalamazoo
Well to bring you up to speed, I had to divert my Delta flight to Kalamazoo/Battle Creek Int'l Airport (AZO) instead of it's intened location of JFK due to an electrical failure. I landed safely. The Delta Maintenance was on hand already for a Comair CRJ they were fixing. They got my radios working again and most of the important insturments temporarily but I needed to deadhead it to CVG for proper maintenance. I taxied the aircraft out and departed for CVG. Due to the lack of time to dump fuel on my first flight I was a little overweight and pulled back a bit too far on the stick, Struck the tail

The only warning I had in the cockpit was an APU fire alarm so I emptied the bottles. Nothing worked so I knew I had a major problem.

I declared an emergency with ATC and was approved to return to AZO. ARFF was notified and standing by. The Fire Capt. took the last shot of me on final.

I was able to land safely on the 6500 ft. runway (AGAIN!) and ARFF extinguished the fire.
Let me know what you think. ;D
