Roughly 50 minutes out of Larisa.  Note the cruise ship. Also note that I have no idea where I am.

Whole lotta islands. Again, I'm fighting to keep pointed SE, as the wind keeps blowing me to the east.

Seconds after reaching the Egyptian coast. To my extreme relief, the Nile is to my right. Right after this I gunned the throttle.

Turning base, just as I hit the 9hr mark

Touchdown at Cairo.  Final time is 9 hours, 3 minutes and 12 seconds, which came as an unexpected shock, considering I had no idea where I was half of the time.

Edit - I guess I should type filenames properly.

Hey congrats; Jroc! Looks like you've posted the fasted time so far. :)

Still didn't beat the 9 hour mark; but you came pretty close - good flying! :)

Heh. Yeah, landings always seem a bit hairy in her, eh?

I've had a lot of practise with the Comet though, I did the England to Austrailia flight twice - once there and once back, plus numerous joyrides.

Yes, I did that race too - nearly killed me!  Until I found out how to trim the aeroplane 'hands off', anyway.

And, like you, I got hooked on the DH88, and took it on round the world.  Played fair, too, even found a route through the Rockies that didn't require me to go above 12,500, oxygen height.
