It's amazing what you come across...

Postby Fozzer » Sun Sep 26, 2004 1:25 pm

FS 2002 Pro.

........when you are flying around in your Waco in remote, wild, middle of nowhere places...!
...(mind you, at a height of 5,000ft.  ASL, over a hot Mojave desert, in a piston engined aeroplane, and an altitude density of naff-all, it's a bit of a struggle)... :o...!
LOL...!
So...
Anyone know what this complex is in the Mojave Desert?
The nearest airstrip, a few miles away, is Mountain Valley, (L94), and Tehanchapi Mun, (KTSP).

Note the location at the top of the screen.

Have a trip there and see if you can spot it and tell me what it is... 8)...!

Thank-you very much... ;)...!

LOL...!

I checked it out in FS9.  The 'pyramids' look a lot like piles of dirt, sand or rock.

Did some research - It might be the Monolith Cement Plant at Tehachapi Pass.

Do you know what it is?

My new guesses would be either a place where the military practices war, or a defunct A-bomb testing site...

Area 51 was closed down some years ago...

Area 51 is still open. The airbase that everyone knows exists all though it really doesn't.

It's in FS2004 but not nearly as impressive. Only two mounds of dirt and two wearhouses.

Isn't it just a tourist attraction for Don Quixote types?

Are you talking about Area 51 or the place Fozzer has in his screenshots?
