Half way through the rollout and still an errie silence in the cabin.  "OK folks, what's the joke?  Everybody OK back there?"  No answer.  I think they're trying to pull a good one on the 'ole Captain.
Image

Continuing the rollout, I began to hear, what sounded like, some hushed sighs of relief.  Very faint, but I could hear them.
Image

There we go, Thank God!!  I could finally open that beer.  Lord knows I need one, my nerves were shot from all those whining passengers!  I told them that we were finally out of that strange turbulence that came out of the blue.  But they still insisted to return to JFK!  You just can't please some people!
Image

Sooooooo, it was back to JFK.
Image

On approach to 4L
Image

Touchdown and the sounds of cheers mixed with several nasty comments about my flying, and something about my mother!?
Image

Let me get this thing parked and get these crazy people off my airplane!
Image

Now they're moaning about being too dizzy and weak kneed to get up and get off.  Oh well, I'm outta here, goin' to the lounge.  You guys can get off when you're good and ready.  What's that about reporting me to the FAA?  Fat chance!  They won't do anything!  Can they do that?  ??? I mean I hope not!  Can they?  ???
Image

Might just be the end of my very short commercial career.  Thanks for the inspiration Ozzy!! :) ;D

Nice one MC ;) And as for comments about mum, well the one time a student said THAT about my mum I just turned around and said "I didn't know you'd met her!" :o ;D That ALWAYS shuts those sort of people up, I mean how can you retort? ;)

Thanks John, and everyone else for the comments!  Yea, I'm kinda proud of the Grandkids, though I still feel too young to be called Grandpa.  Oh well, it slips up on ya very fast!  I figured out the 72 in Ozzys' handle.  It means Ozzy was 1 year old when my twins were born in '73, 'cuz they're 31 now.  My, how time flys! ;)

Yeah Ozzy is a youngn' , that is where his attitude comes from, kids now a days  ::)

Great shots! But some more respect should be had for the greatest aircraft of all times! Flying her upside down is easy now try a knife edge pass with her!!!  ;D

Amazing how a beer or two can calm your nerves while flying. Brrrrrp! Now, which runway to land on at this single runway airport.

Customers...what an impedance to proper aerobatics!

Don't worry about the FAA...

Great Story Mark and also very nice flying.

Oh by the way..."The Beer"...not to far fetched...if an instrument failure just should occur...sure half a pint might steady your hand BUT : use the remaining half a bottle to wedge between the mixture or prop pitch and it will act as an "Artificial Horizon" :)

Oh and yes if you are forced down and did not break all your bottles and you need a cool pint to calm the nerves...take a small rag....dip in fuel tank...wrap around bottle...remove and instant cool beer :)

Now how would I know that???Me...know way ::) :-XLOL

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Your not the first person I had heard this from, I thought the other was pulling my leg but it seems to be a trick of the trade! That seems to work with all not just a 3. ;D
