Roughing It
Well, on a whim, Mr. G decided he wanted to go camping, and he came up to the airport with gear that he had gotten in Mackinac City! I clould tell that he had never been camping in Northern Michigan before (no bug spray for one thing) :-/ He also had too much stuff, way to much for me to carry! So his options were to leave some stuff behind (such as that Television...he didn't wanna) or we had to charter another aircraft to get to wherever we would go.
Well, he got a helicopter (a Bell Ranger, I think) and I decided on a route. In the end, we would go to Drummond Island, by way of Ashman Island airport, owned by Fred May.
The chopper pilot was a very private person and asked me not to take pictures of his chopper, but that didn't stop Alundra from getting some shots of me!

As we were going, I noticed that though my heading indicator was pointing me at about 60*, we seemed to be headed South! I guess I had it set wrong or something!
Between adjusting my heading indicator, I snapped this one...

I also noticed that my transceiver also kept resetting to 7000...I'll have to get that looked at (good thing this is not my plane)!
Alundra has a good eye, doesn't she?

And here I am, on approach to 1MI0...the weather looks deceptive...it's barely 50*F outside...

As I was headed toward Drummond Island, the Bell passed over me and Alundra shot this.

And this as I got closer!

Well the plane is parked, and on land!

I helped get the tents pitched, and the fire started. Good thing for Mr. G that I had my camping gear (which included a firestarting kit and bug spray!) We cooked our food and the chopper left (the food is what pushed us over the weight limit. Mr. G's TV cannot get anything, so he'll be taking it back I guess...maybe I can talk him into finding a place to sell it here, it's rather big and I'd rather not take it back in the Maule, if I can avoid it!
