While the clients are away...

Well, a good thing that Mr. G and Alundra were busy doing stuff on the Island...they never noticed that I was gone!  They told me they would not need me for the next 2 days (I get paid anyways 8) !)

After getting back from Ludo's little airshow (jet-lagged out of my mind), I came across this little beauty!

Image

Its owner, some cowboy-type named Bruce, was on his way South from doing airshows in Canada.  I asked if he knew Ludo and we talked a bit.  It turned out that he also knew Frank and had followed my story across America!  At one point he said; "you look like you're itchin' to take my bird up!  Go ahead and have fun, just don't git killed, and leave as much fuel as is in it now."

Since he insists so forcefully, I can't refuse ;D

Image

Little did I know, that Mr. G and Alundra had come up to see how I was doing.  They were going to ask if I wanted to come to a tour of Fort Michilimac.  They found Bruce who said; "doubt it, I think he's more interested in that" as he pointed at me.

Alundra was on the ground snapping away...(these shots were more exciting than mine as I overflew inverted over the Island...) 8)

I keep my promises and got fuel, though I had to do so at Mackinac Co (38D) in St. Ignace, as there are no pumps on the Island!  This shot with a 182 taking off in the background made for a nice static shot I thought!

Image

As I was coming back...I saw the bridge...hmmm, surely a harmless bit of fun...

Then Bruce's voice came over the radio "Don't even think about it."   Okay, who told him about me!? >:(

Sooo, I had to amuse myself in other ways...

Can't quite make a figure eight with this plane as it doesn't seem to outside loop too well...:(

But it can prop-hang! ;D

At this point, it was time to head back (or I would have to re-fuel again :P).

Image

I got down in a hurry as there was a Piper Cherokee planning a touch-and-go (in the background).

Image

I was greeted to a crowd  clapping and cheering (even some of the Girl Scouts and employees from the fort were there)!  Mr. G was bragging to everyone "That's my pilot!"  Bruce was impressed "not bad for an beginner!"  I wonder what Ozzy would think?

We all agreed that it had been more exciting than if I had gone on a tour with them at the fort...;)

Marcus Aurelius has said "The object in life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane."

Well, I guess the insane won out on that one! ;D
