Not really sure how I feel about this series.    ???  Particularly in light of the news yesterday of 89 people who just died in Russia in an airliner related incident.

The story is told pretty well.  The "photography" is very good.... good angles and variety of viewpoints  (looks like a storyboard for a real film/video shoot).  The "special effects" department is up for an Oscar....particularly the dust being raised when pieces hit the ground.... some serious attention to details in that effects software.

But the thing that I think bothers me is the "content" of the series.  One can't help but think about the person who shot the picture out over the wing that was found in the camera at the crash scene.  Who were they?  Where were they going?  What were their plans?  Who is waiting for them at home and at their planned destination...... who at the time of these photos don't yet know what happened?

The "freeze frame" aspect of the two aircraft just before they obviously are about to hit the ground but are basically intact......... is very thought provoking.  What is going thru the flight crew's minds at that exact instant?  Are the flight crew of the Orbit aircraft already just dead about one missing heartbeat in time...... crushed by the mass of the United plane slamming into the top of the the Orbit's nose?  Or do they have about one heartbeat left to live?

What are the passengers doing right then?  Whose kids won't have a father anymore?  Whose wife won't be coming home?

It is a disturbing series of images and story line.

I agree with John. Most depressing when one thinks about the camera, did it survive intact or was only the film recovered? Seems that the pilot actually poured on the coals at the last minute and the port engine caught fire. Whether or not this was the actual cause is unclear (not clear, for Brits). I'm sure the subsequent investigation will reveal this.  >:(

Hey everybody,

I just wanted to say that I didn't mean to offend anyone. I just thought these were funny shots especially in the light that we all know the MS ATC can be less than accurate at times. Plus, I can see that maybe the timing was bad or the story line was bad but, really, no offense meant. I took out the storyline but left the pics because I still think they're interesting and funny in that it's a sim world. Hope everyone is cool with that.

These pictures remind me of some that I took at KLAX which I will post here some time. (Don't worry, no planes collide.) I'm kind of dissapointed that I didn't get a chance to read the story line because it sounds rather thought provoking. Right now I am wondering if those crash effects are free or not and if they are, where can I get them?
