There were only two X-31 Enhanced Maneuverability Fighters built. The paddles on the nozzle produce vectored thrust, which enables the aircraft to perform maneuvers impossible in conventional aircraft.

X-31 takeoff from Edwards AFB, California, on a test fligt to Eilson AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska.

Testing the cruising speed, Mach 0.95 at 35,000ft.

Skimming the mountains after crossing into Alaska at Mach 1.25.

Stalling at 42 knots with a 70 degree AoA.

On final at Eilson AFB.

Landing with the nose 15 degrees up at 134 knts.

I think I'll keep it!

Unfortunately it is an FS98 model. :'(  It was the only one I could find. I could only find it at flightsim.com

Nor do you have to...but is such a negative comment really necessary?

i don't blame the starter of this topic...it's just my opinion about the model. some criticism can be instructive and helpfull for the starter to improve his photos in the future, but again, it's not his fault this model sucks.  ;)
