Paris to New York...Concorde style

Postby Triple_7 » Tue Aug 17, 2004 2:21 pm

Well after only a couple days of R & R I ended up back in the states.

Holding short of rwy 8L for departure.

Waking up anyone whos still in bed as we roar into the sky.
Image
Over the ocean, climbing through 40,000 feet, and with afterburners on full we are begining our supersonic acceleration.
Image
About 1500 miles to go... We are cruising at 57,000 feet at mach 2.02.
Image
Decending to FL230 just off the US coastline.
Image
Just cleared for the 31L aproch about 30 miles out.
Image
With the runway just ahead we are cleared to land.
Image
Slowed down and ready to turn onto the next taxiway.
Image
Finaly parked and unloaded... We are running a little late do to a rather strong headwind.  But we still took off at 10:30 AM and landed at 8:30 AM.  So no matter what we are still ahead.

Well hope you enjoyed.  Im taking the Concorde back to Paris in a couple days.. But for now its time to sit back and relax.

thanks...

The plane is available here and at avsim and not positive but possibly even no nodes...

It is made for FS2002 and is a hefty download on dial-up... 12 mbs    also at avsim there is a texture kit available with all of the liveries from air france and british airways.   its a great model and seems to be pretty realistic.  thought the turning radius is not that great   dont know what to  edit to make it a little better   kind of hard to make sharp turns while taxiing...even at slow speeds.   but other then that its a great  model... but the texture upgrade makes it even better     as well as the after burner effects also available at avsim and possibly here as well...

HIGHLY RECAMEND WITH UPGRADES

Also somewhat framerate friendly.  the Project Mach 2 Concorde is much better though....but for me it was a huge fps killer.

just go to avsim and look up concorde for fs2002 then look for the 12 mb download as for that is the one you want    might find the extra upgrades over there as well

ok   just did some more downloading      when at avsim the concorde its self is titled   Concorde V.3   its the only one near 13 mbs.   also found a much better after burner effect available.  also includes a much better smoke efect.   just go to FS2002 misc  and look for concorde       its the v.2 afterburners you will want

as for textures just look up Concorde in the FS2002 aircraft section and look for something about Texture Fix

ill post anymore better upgrades i find... to see the new ABs just wait till tommarow when i fly back to paris

Yes it has a VC        but its not extreemly the greatest       im sure there are probably a couple downloads for a VC        but this one does just fine    its a close rep of the real pannels
