I'm not too sure what it is - (I'm pretty new at this computer stuff) - but it's whatever they put in stock in the Dell Dimension Desktop.
I understand that graphic cards are pretty reasonable
in price and easy to put in. I think I'll go shopping.
I dunno what to buy though. :-[

To find out, hit the Window+break (the Windows key is the one with the windows symbol on it) keys.
Select the hardware tab.
Click the button that reads Device Manager.
Click the + sign next to Display Adapter.
That will tell you what you have.
As for what you should get, that all depends on how much you want to spend (something with 256 MB will help), I'm partial to Raedon (it's power requirements are lower than NVidia).

Or, to find out what it is, just go to 'Run', and then type in 'dxdiag'. It may take a little time like a couple seconds, but that should show you what it is.

mda1162,
Hi and welcome to SimV.
For a "Rookie" that landing was pretty much on the center line. Nice.
On the general Forums listing page look for the "Hardware" forum. Go there and start reading all the video card related threads........ that will give you some good background for making a choice on what card to think about getting.
best,
...............john

Thanks for the help!
I will definately go over there and ask around.
I love the sim! Its alot of fun, but seems like I could
get alot more enjoyment out of it with smoother
performance and better graphics.
And thanks for the compliment! I landed that beast
with a cheap joystick and no rudders too! 8)

Great shots for your first pix, 64 meg video cards are very cheap now and will give you respectable graphics and performance. Good luck. Happy flying
