Bit of an ugly lookin plane, but great shots  8)  Think I had a US army one of these planes, it flew great and sounded awsome too.

What a beast of a plane (I would think that is as a plane should be...ugly as sin, loud, but flies like a dream!)

What a giant of a bird, great shot from the cockpit. What kind of a plane is it ???. I've never seen it before. Happy flying

It is a skymaster ;D

Used by the USAAF for transport then became civil airliners and now some are transporters and fire fighters ;D

the aircraft is a boeing stratocruiser 377....postwar airliner, during the golden years....essentially a b-29 wing and tail surfaces with a fat albert cabin.  for those that dont know, this aircraft had an upstairs lounge, and was in widespread use in the u.s and operated with boac for several years....a real fuel and oil guzzler.  was very successfull as the "stratotanker", kc97...etc...etc
