Fortunately; the P/S failure was an easy fix - the static port was plugged; as I thought. I cleared it; grabbed a quick dinner and took off again - my goal Venesuela. This bit would be entirely over the water; and entirely in darkness - looking for an airport without an RDF station and possibly without lights.
But - it's near a sizeable city apparently; so there should be plenty of groundlighting to fly by.
Night over the ocean.
Coming in to Carupano, Venesuela was an...er...experience.
The kind that makes you say "Who's the idiot that built this airport??"
First; finding it was easy enough - the city's well lit.
The airport, unfortunately, was not.
So... look for the long, narrow dark bit.
