What a Find!

Postby atotti2000 » Tue Jun 22, 2004 5:22 pm

As some of you may know im busy completing my first FS9 main goal. I call it Around the World in 80 days, (or so ::))   ;)
As most people seem to post their progress weekly ive decided to upload it when i am finished in different sections. then post it afterwards once or twice a week. it will be a summarised version though. Anyhoo.
On my travels I have made my virtual lifetime discovery.
I landed at a small airfield in the Congo and was greeted by a Panic stricken Arabian buisnessman, or so i thought. It turned out that it was the Sultan of Oman who had been travelling in his brand new Learjet 45. He had gone to open up a new HUB of Oman Air and he would be travelling down to Angola to meet up with some well respected African leaders.
His pilot was sick. ::)
And so he made a lucrative deal with me (to my benefit ;)) that if i could fly him down in his learjet with the co-pilot, his other pilot could fly my AC680 down when he had recovered in a few days. ;D
I agreed to this and set off at about 5 o Clock local time.

I eventually reached the 4th of Febuary Intl. but was greeted with Landing Lights failure...I thought he told me this was a new plane.  ::)

Checked over the Learjet in the morning, made sure all the systems worked. right, off to find someone to look at the Landing lights. wait a minute???

is that....holy moley  :o :o its a Dehavilland Comet. I hope its not intended for the scrap yard.
Image

On close inspection it looks in good nick. Most likely an old Sudan Airways plane, thay had a few comets. I will be looking into this as well as a mechanic for the lear.

thanks

Ant. I'll tell you how it go's. 8)

What did you add to get the cracks and realistic textures around the buildings?

thanks everyone for the comments. ;D;D;D
jordonj : I downloaded the Airport Environment Packs. there available at no-nodes and avsim and i think the latest edition is 6.
Mr Bones: I also downloaded this comet. It had Sudan Airways livery so what you see is a 10minute pain strip texture which i hurridly made to look like this.
Im planning on making it a private plane but havnt started yet.
