I've decided to show some of the splendour of the coastline of the UK (Well as much as can be shown in FS2002). Links will be added to tourist sites showing what it should be like.
Leg1.
Lands End (St Just EGHC) to Plymouth (EGHD).
Aircraft.... Tiger Moth (Swedish Markings)

Lifted off from St Just and circled over Lands End.
Image
Low over St Michaels Mount.
Image
Passing over Lizard Point the most Southerly point of Mainland UK.
Image
Falmouth off to Port.
Image
Mouth of the Tamar the border between Cornwall and Devon.
Image
The Gaffa's view entering the pattern for Rwy31 at Plymouth.
Image
Side slipping in for a nice smooth landing.
Image
Parked with that new fangled stuff.
Image
Now where's that Scrumpy?

A quick link to the sites of Cornwall.

Leg 2 soon ....Hagar I'm Heading for Shoreham so DUCK!! ;) :P ;D

enjoy

Very Nice eno.

A quick question though:  What was and is St. Michaels Mount, is it a tourist attraction and the breakwater, was it for naval use?

Thanks for posting eno...my mom and sister are comming over this September for three weeks and I and the wife will be there in 2005 for six weeks.   Want to see everything I can but know it will be impossible.

P.S.  Do you think you can convince everyone to drive on the other side of the road before 2005 ;D ;D ;DLOL...just kidding.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

You can almost see my house in pic 4. ;D

Flying trucker, St Michael's Mount is an island off cornwall. Reachable at low tide by a granite causeway and by boat at high tide. The mount is said to have been built, and first inhabited by the giant Cormoran, who was eventually killed by Jack the giant killer (of "beanstalk" fame). However after this the island was used as a fort and was part of britains sea defences up intill the 19th centuary. Now its one of Cornwalls biggest tourist attractions.

Nice to see I'm not the only Moth fanatic. I do believe that is one of Dougs favourites ;D

Great idea Eno. Glad to see you're using a decent Tiger Moth too. ;D

Let me know when you're due at Shoreham & I'll have a pie & a pint waiting. ;)

Just going to stick to the coast on this trip .... Will probably do an inland tour at a later date  ;D

On a side note does anyone know some scenery enhancements for the UK coast?  I've grabbed everything off here and can't face trawling through Avsim. so any help appreciated.

cheers

Hi eno...!
Fantastic shots....It's just a shame that the English scenery is so un-realistic in the sim... :'(...!
(which is why I stick to California...)... ;)...!

Cheers eno... ;D...!

By the way...
Have you got your "shadows" turned on...?
...and St. Michaels Mount was St. Michaels girl-friend... ;)... ;)... ;)...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

It's nice to see that you are still running FS 2002, (the best)...... 8)...!

We can always trust Mr Fozzer to lower the tone of the thread  ;) but then again at his age he needs all the lowering he can get  ;D :P ;) :P ;D

Shadows are off ......... machine grinds to a halt having to think about them . And the same reason basically applies to FS9, although I have it for when I build my ULTIMATE system ..... thats after I've won the lottery, divorced the wife and moved onto ozzys bus full of swedish nymphomaniacs  ;D ;D ;D :o
cheers

Maybe Mr Fozzer should enliven the scenery of good ole England by modeling an island, just off the coast of Sussex, based on the figure of Jordan

;D ;D ::) :P
